Abstract:Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated (Arc) protein is expressed in neural tissue of vertebrates, where it plays a pivotal role in modulation of synaptic communication mediating AMPA receptor trafficking and actin cytoskeletal dynamics in dendritic spines. In addition, Arc protein forms capsid-like particles, which can encapsulate and transfer mRNA in extracellular vesicles (EVs) between neurons, that could be a possible mechanism to control synaptic function and plasticity. Glioma cell networks actively … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
