“…Because epoxy resin coatings (ERCs) possess many advantages, including good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, and low shrinkage, they have been extensively used as preferred protective barriers for metallic surfaces . Although water‐based epoxy resins are considered to environmentally friendly, lots of micropores can be generated during the curing process at higher temperature; consequently, this makes it easy for external corrosive media to intrude into the metallic substrate . The introduction of microfillers and nanofillers into water‐based ERCs might be an effective approach for drastically reducing the number of micropores and thus boosting the barrier properties of ERCs.…”
