“…Some rhodanine derivatives have antimicrobial properties [4][5][6]. Rhodanine derivatives can be used as pan-assay interference compounds for biological samples [7][8][9], for water treatment in efficient removal of HMs cations [10], and as fluorescence sensors for organic compounds [11] or HMs (Fe [12], Hg [13][14][15], and Cu [13]; Ag [15,16], Zn [17], and Cd [17] targets). There are no reported electrochemical sensors based on CMEs by using rhodanine derivatives for the detection of HMs.…”

“…In this sense, an MLG with INHIBIT logic gate can be built considering the presence of ions Mg 2+ and F − as input "1" and their absence as input "0" and considering the emission at 631 nm as output "1" and their lack as output "0" (Scheme 12b,c). Another example of a halide-promoting decomplexation for the elaboration of an MLG was described by David et al [183]. The authors designed the rhodanine derivative 27 to detect Ag + e I − (Scheme 13a).…”

“…Then, an INHIBIT-type MLG was constructed (Scheme 13b,c). Another example of a halide-promoting decomplexation for the elaboration of an MLG was described by David et al [183]. The authors designed the rhodanine derivative 27 to detect Ag + e I − (Scheme 13a).…”

“…Silver ions bioaccumulate in the human body via the regular food chain and drinking water. Also, in the case of aquatic environments, it is highly toxic and fatal to organisms if the concentration of silver is higher than 1.6 nM. At the same time, excess silver ions in the human body can cause a variety of negative health consequences, including damage to the respiratory system, brain, and central nervous system. Furthermore, excessive silver absorption even leads to death of internal organs and creates severe pains in the stomach and kidneys. These are mostly the result of the mushrooming of companies across the world, particularly those producing electrical, electronic, and photographic products, which have serious impacts on both people and the environment. As a result, a simple artificial probe for precise detection of silver ions is very desirable and critical in the current situation.…”
