Show more

“…Table 3.1 shows that the majority of Group A had an MLK score of 3 at baseline (T0), 17 The temporal trend of MLK's analysis in both groups is represented in Figures 3.1 and 3.2: Groups A and B showed a significative improvement between T0 and T1. Both groups showed no significative differences between T2 and T3 and between T3 and T4.…”

“…18 De Corso et al demonstrated that RFA provides an improvement in nasal airflow with a reduction in nasal obstructive symptoms in the short term, but its efficacy tends to decrease within 3 years. 17 Incandela et al suggested that urban residence and AR were significantly associated with lower long-term improvement after RFA. 19 Bipolar microdebrider technique for ITH might have several potential advantages.…”

“…There may be concerns about recurrence of inferior turbinate hypertrophy after RFA. Though a lot of studies have shown sustainable results 2, 15 3, 8,13 and even 5 years 14,16 after RFA.…”

“…11,12 Long-term efficacy of RFA is demonstrated in several small retrospective studies. 8,[13][14][15][16] Clinical successful results persist 2, 15 3, 8,13 and even 5 years 14,16 after RFA.…”

“…Bony outfracture, the most atraumatic and conservative IT surgery, 2301 can reduce the distance between IT and lateral nasal wall and enlarge the dimensions of the nasal airway when performed alone 2302,2303 or in conjunction with other techniques 2304,2305 . IT surgery via energy‐related techniques 2304–2363 and via direct tissue removal 1093,2296,2299,2303,2307,2310,2331,2332,2335,2336,2338,2344,2364–2376 have both been extensively studied, with reported high efficacy in reducing symptoms and increasing nasal volume and airflow with minimal complications. Of note, botulinum toxin injection 2377–2379 and high‐intensity focused ultrasound may also provide symptomatic relief, 2380,2381 though there remains limited evidence for their utility.…”
