“…The melamine milk scandal hugely increased China’s demand for imported dairy products and has even had a direct impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the international dairy market which may have far-reaching implications for Australia and New Zealand, as major dairy exporting countries, in the international market. In recent years, much scholarly attention and research has been devoted to the dairy scandal in China [16,23,24,25], but there has been little comparative analysis between Australia and New Zealand to assess the relative global impact of dairy imports on the Chinese market. The present research will compare the performance of China’s global dairy imports before and after entry into the WTO in the period of 1992–2017, across all sectors in relation to Australia and New Zealand especially in the context of the food safety laws following the milk scandals.…”

“…The city is shrouded in thick smog (Cheng et al, 2017 ), and the location of some controversial neighboring facilities (Yue et al, 2018 ) indicate that Chinese urban residents are living in a high environmental hazards context. The continued and rampant public health safety scandals, such as the Sanlu Milk Powder and Changchun Vaccine incidents, vividly show that the Chinese are facing health risks related to food and medical care (Song et al, 2018 ; Wang and Ding, 2019 ). The frequent seasonal floods occurring in large cities have severely damaged important infrastructure, such as electricity and transportation, impacting people's daily lives, which is considered one of the most serious natural hazards occurring in Chinese cities.…”

“…In such circumstances, there are many types of knowledge-based approaches that refer to fault diagnosis and risk analysis, such as fault tree analysis (FTA), hazard analysis, critical control points (HACCP), root cause analysis (RCA), etc. [14][15][16]. Among them, the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) technique is widely used in numerous industries to assess and mitigate the risk of unexpected failures [17].…”
