Social welfare is still a problem in today's society, where one of the areas that has this problem is Patean sub-district, Kendal. Efforts are being made through the Family Hope Program (PKH) initiated by the government. In the event that there is a need for a communication strategy to achieve goals, where communication is the key in conveying counseling messages in realizing social welfare. The method used in this research is to use descriptive qualitative, where the researcher wants to know the description of the communication strategy carried out by PKH extension workers in realizing social welfare in Patean District, Kendal. The results of this study indicate that the strategy carried out by PKH extension workers in the implementation of the program is carried out in the form of: 1) Use of informative communication carried out by PKH extension agents by giving letters, informing distribution, and delivering materials. 2) Persuasive communication by delivering P2K2 modules, and invitations to graduate independent. 3.) The extension agent conducts coercive communication, in which this communication requires the KPM (Beneficiary Families) to fulfill their obligations, take part in vaccinations. In addition, there are strategies in counseling efforts to improve social welfare carried out through communication strategies in counseling including: 1) Cooperative methods through KUBE (Joint Business Groups) with face-to-face counseling. 2) The material presented is related to PKH education and the P2K2 module (Family Capacity Building Meetings). 3) Utilizing audio media, laptops, posters, modules, books, and social media. 4) The target is KPM including health, education, social welfare for the elderly and severe disabilities. 5) The effect that occurs is the level of understanding is different, it is helped in terms of the economy, health, and education. In addition, the results show that efforts to improve social welfare in Patean, Kendal have been realized, but not optimal.
