RNF185 antisense RNA 1 (RNF185-AS1) promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion in papillary thyroid carcinoma

Abstract: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) plays an important role in multiple cancers. So far, the exact function of lncRNAs in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is unclear. The purposes of this work were to investigate the function and underlying mechanisms of RNF185 antisense RNA 1 (RNF185-AS1) in PTC. The expression of RNF185-AS1 was analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Colony formation, 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine, and Cell Counting Kit-8 assays were utilized to determine cell proliferation. Cell migration an… Show more

“…Relevant research indicates that DLEU1 , as a protective predictor, is a candidate gene of tumor suppressor involved in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia ( 38 ). RNF185-AS1 , in contrast, has the effect of promoting proliferation and migration in thyroid carcinoma and liver cancer ( 39 , 40 ). The effect of the two predictors in tumor progression confirmed their influence on the prediction of survival probability.…”

“…RNF185-AS1 silencing has been found capable of impeding the proliferation, migration and invasion of the cancer cells in vitro and to reduce tumorigenesis in vivo. Thus, the RNF185-AS1/miR-429/LRP4 axis may represent a potential target for the development of therapeutic strategies in PTC [44]. Downregulation of RNF185 expression has been found to correlate with prostate cancer progression and metastasis, and when RNF185 is reduced, the wound healing and cellular movement pathways were the most significant that were found upregulated.…”
