Robotic-assisted Ivor Lewis esophagectomy—end-to-end anastomosis (EEA)

Abstract: Minimally invasive methods for treating esophageal cancer are being increasingly adopted.Multiple steps of the operation have variability in the technique. The esophago-gastric anastomosis can be performed with a circular end-to-end anastomosis (EEA) stapler, hand sewn, or with a linear stapler. Here, we describe a robotic technique utilizing the EEA stapler.
