Robust modeling and performance analysis of high-power diode side-pumped solid-state laser systems

Abstract: In this paper, we present an enhanced high-power extrinsic diode side-pumped solid-state laser (DPSSL) model to accurately predict the dynamic operations and pump distribution under different practical conditions. We introduce a new implementation technique for the proposed model that provides a compelling incentive for the performance assessment and enhancement of high-power diode side-pumped Nd:YAG lasers using cooperative agents and by relying on the MATLAB, GLAD, and Zemax ray tracing software packages. “…diode pumping, and/or combinations of generation of various wavelengths in one instrument, can result in a suitable laser device providing support in multidisciplinary treatments. The high-power diode side-pumped Nd:YAG laser with geometrical pump distribution for three radially arranged arrays of laser diodes with output power 140 W [4], or the 5 ns Nd:YAG laser generating at 1064 nm [5] could be the future small laser system with sufficient effect in medicine.…”

“…Laser countermeasures techniques that are used against infrared focal plane array cameras aim to saturate the full camera image. A 1.06µm Nd-YAG 130 W solid state laser system disturbing a CCD imaging system was accomplished Proceedings of the 11 th ICEENG Conference, 3-5 April, 2018 40-RSA in [10]. MOPA is another technique that can be used to generate 135 W from Nd doped double clad fiber laser using end pumping master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA).…”
