Role of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of inflammatory bowel disease: a single Chinese center's experience

Abstract: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of chronic nonspecific inflammatory diseases, including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), whose etiology and pathogenesis have not been elucidated. Its onset may be related to dietary habits, environment, genes, infection, intestinal flora, and immune disorders. IBD is developing into a global epidemic.
