“…Upstream events of the HSR include perception and signal transduction of HS. Jia et al [ 55 ] demonstrated that Hsf activity and Hsp production involved in thermotolerance are a result of cross-talk among H 2 O 2 , nitric oxide (NO), Ca 2+ channels, and calmodulin (CaM). In particular, CaM activates Hsfs, protein kinase, phosphatase, and cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channels.…”

“…We have also studied other physiological parameters, such as gs, E, Pn and Rd in the Wsamisgt lines after heat stress. In general, gs appeared to be controlled by CO 2 and water vapor which prevents leaf desiccation (Zhao et al 2014). After heat stress, gs was increased in Wsamisgt lines which increased the E. Furthermore, due to low ETR between PSI and PSII, Pn was also decreased in Wsamisgt lines.…”

“…A few members of HSPs are the molecular chaperons and essential in maintaining protein degradation, protein folding and activation of proteins involved in signal transduction and control of cell cycle in stress conditions (Wang et al , Zhang et al ). The expressions of HSP genes in the plants are governed by heat shock signaling pathway which is regulated by H 2 O 2 and other ROS, such as NO (Jia et al ). After heat stress, Wsamisgt lines enhanced expression of HSP encoding genes, such as WsHSP24 , WsHSP80 , WsHSP83 and WsHSP101 as compared to control plants (Fig.…”

“…Calmodulin is an important protein; because it decodes Ca 2+ -dependent and-independent signals and could be helpful in in-depth understanding of the biological molecular mechanisms and signals. [ 19 20 21 22 ]…”
