“…As seen in Figure 2(1-4), with the increase of HNO 3 concentration, the surface becomes smoother, the orange peel defects are alleviated effectively, but it causes point defects. Datta et al 18 have investigated the effect of nitrate radical (NO 3 À ) on the corrosion behavior of 20% SiCp reinforced Al-Si-Mg (6061-Al), and the results show that the NO 3 À ions can protect the barrier film by extending the passivity through incorporation of NO 3 À into the film matrix. This conclusion can explain the results of HNO 3 which can ease the orange peel defects in this paper.…”
