Role of physique and physical fitness in the balance of Korean national snowboard athletes

Abstract: Background The objective of this study is to understand the relationship between physique, physical fitness, and balance performance for snowboard athletes. Methods We considered all Korean national snowboard athletes (n = 9 with 6 males and 3 females, age = 17.44 ± 4.42), who have an experience of competition at continental cup level, to measure their physique, physical fitness, and (both static and dynamic) balance. Static balance was evaluated based on one-legged sta… Show more

“…Therefore, it is necessary to transform the point coordinates As ( xs , ys , zs ) in the sensor coordinate system Os - XsYsZs to the point A ( x , y , z ) under the travel coordinate system O - XYZ to recognize the action. It is noted that if the coordinate system is transformed to the ground coordinate system first and then to the travel coordinate system, it will undergo two coordinate transformations, which will increase unnecessary overhead [ 17 , 18 ]. Therefore, the way of direct change is considered here.…”

Using the least square fitting method for descriptive statistical analysis, combined with quantitative regression analysis method for information regression analysis of multimode statistical sequence of long-distance runners' physical fitness enhancement training [15], the multimode feasibility evaluation model of long-distance runners' physical fitness enhancement training is obtained as follows:…”

“…Swift movements require decision-making cognitive ability and muscular strength. As growing children get older, their skeletal muscles and agility grow together [46]. This study found out that the lowest percentage of both male and female children was in the low agility cluster (3), which is probably due to the fact that decision-making cognitive ability and muscular strength for swift movements develop most lately during babyhood.…”

“…This study classified the subjects into four physical fitness clusters. The balance cluster (1), where children had well-developed lower body muscles [46], accounted for 28.2% of all case. Meanwhile, cluster 2 consisted of children with balanced physical growth, particularly with developed upper body muscles, accounting for 31.9% of all case.…”
