The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of educational experiences contained within the basic Social Studies curriculum that help foster the development of unity and harmony in Kenya. The study utilized a descriptive survey design for its format. The research focused on a sample population consisting of 467 primary schools in order to target the heads of those schools (467), as well as all social studies teachers (4,832) and students (98,600) from classes five, six, seven, and eight, as well as 40 Curriculum Support Officers. A technique known as proportionate stratified randomization was utilized to select 47 schools from six different sub-counties, along with four teachers and students from each of those schools. For the purpose of data collection, we made use of things like questionnaires, interview guides, observation schedules, conversations with focus groups, and document analysis. Approaches both qualitative and quantitative were utilized in the study of the data. According to the results of the research, the subject matter taught in Kenya's Social Studies classrooms plays a critical role in fostering the country's national cohesiveness and integration. It was also discovered that the curriculum for social studies provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for a harmonious life in society. This, in turn, fosters a sense of oneness and unity among the students who are enrolled in the program. As a result of these findings, it was proposed that the curriculum should be revised, that teachers should be taught, and that civic involvement should be promoted in order to increase the impact that social studies education has.

Substance abuse among youths has been a problem to society in General. The continuous use of psychoactive substances among adolescents and youths has become a public concern worldwide because it potentially causes deliberate or unintended harm or injury. The consequences of drug abuse are not only on the individual user but also on his or her offspring, family and the society. This seminar topic discussed some drugs that are commonly abused by adolescents and youths such as cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine, heroin, codeine, cough syrup and tramadol. It also discussed the sources where abusers obtained drugs as well possible effects in terms of physical, psychological and social terms. The risk factors and the reason for substance abuse was discussed, how substance abuse interrupt the brain, which also tells us the ways of cubbing the menace of substance abuse by creating awareness about drug abuse and their adverse consequences through the aid of appropriate mass media tools. This write-up also discussed method of delivering customized information suitable to the target audience such as family, schools, workers, religious organization, homes in a sensitive manner. Also discussed is the strategies to use in collaboration with international agencies to monitor the sale of over-the-counter drugs and enforcing stricter penalties for individuals who are involved in trade of illicit drugs and many more. Recommendation are made where call on all categories of people including government ,family, community and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to contribute to preventing the menace of substance abuse. If the Nigerian youths should stop drug abuse, they will be useful to themselves, their families and the society in general.

The aim of this research is to determine teachers' abilities in using IT-based interactive learning media in high school history learning in Zaria, analyze the obstacles teachers encounter in utilizing IT-based interactive learning media in history learning in Zaria, and determine the positive and negative impacts of using interactive learning media. IT-based history learning. The research subjects were history teachers and 22 students. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The results of this research illustrate that the ability of history teachers to use IT-based interactive learning media is quite good using the Management System for Teaching and Learning (MSTL). Teachers are skilled in utilizing information technology facilities and developing material into IT-based media products that are interesting and easy to apply in history learning. One of the positive impacts of using IT-based interactive learning media is that it makes it easier for teachers to deliver very dense history learning material. Meanwhile, one of the negative impacts is that it causes teachers to become dependent on information technology-based learning media.
