“…Results show consumption of a late-evening snack with a BCAA supplementation may significantly and rapidly improve liver function and Child-Pugh scores in individuals with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after undergoing RFA. Moreover, results indicate that BCAA supplementation with food or as a snack can help reduce malnourishment in individuals with cancer by increasing their calorie and protein intakes (Deutz et al, 2011; Hassan et al, 2015; Morihara et al, 2012). As nutrient intakes improve, malnourishment, which is a common side effect of anticancer therapies, is improved and individuals may have an increased quality of life.…”
