Abstract: Samotność często przedstawiona jest jako stan ducha lub stan społeczny. W takiej perspektywie samotność jest wyrazem lęku, oderwania od innych lub niezakorzenienia w świecie. Czy jednak na samotność można spojrzeć inaczej -jak na dar i konieczność, związaną z samodzielnie wybraną postawą wobec świata? W określonych sytuacjach, jak filozoficzna kontemplacja lub konieczność spojrzenia na rzeczywistość i siebie samego/samą z dystansu, nie można być wciąż z innymi.
