Abstract:Introduction: Thyroid dysfunction causes a wide spectrum of reproductive disorders, including menstrual disorders. Hypothyroidism has been associated with heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding. The mechanism by which hypothyroidism causes abnormal uterine bleeding is multifactorial and includes alterations in hemostasis and neuroendocrine dysfunction.
