Scalar triplet leptogenesis in the presence of right-handed neutrinos with S 3 symmetry

Abstract: Leptogenesis appears to be a viable alternative to account for the baryon asymmetry of the Universe through baryogenesis. In this context, we consider a scenario in which the standard model is extended with S 3 and Z 2 symmetry in addition to the two scalar triplets, two scalar doublets and three right handed neutrinos. Presence of scalar triplets and right-handed neutrinos in the scenarios of both type-I and type-II seesaw framework provide a different leptogenesis option and can help us to understand the mat… Show more

“…The SM extended by gauged U (1) B−L where neutrino mass is generated by triplet Higgs and simultaneous explanation of dark matter has been studied in [32]. The study of triplet scalar leptogenesis in presence of right-handed neutrinos is studied in [33] and [34] where the latter incorporates S 3 and Z 2 symmetry on the extended SM. A study of dark matter, generation of tiny neutrino mass, and BAU are carried out in [35] in presence of mixed inert scalar triplets.…”

“…A variant of it, namely the type-II seesaw construction [11][12][13][14][15] also provides an equally lucrative resolution by introducing a SU (2) L scalar triplet to the SM field content whose tiny vacuum expectation value (vev) takes care of the small neutrino mass. However, to generate the baryon asymmetry of the Universe via leptogenesis, this minimal type-II framework needs to be extended either with another triplet [16][17][18][19] or by a singlet right-handed neutrino [20][21][22][23][24]. In the later possibility, the role of the single RHN is to contribute to CP asymmetry generation via the vertex correction (in the triplet decay) provided it carries a Yukawa interaction with the SM Higgs and lepton doublets.…”
