Scenario analysis of smart, sustainable supply chain on the basis of a fuzzy cognitive map

Abstract: Purpose This paper aims to present a smart, sustainable supply chain practices structure on the basis of the relational view. Design/methodology/approach A method based on fuzzy cognitive map was applied to construct a relational map to introduce and implement such relational methods. Considering this relational map as a guideline, observations into particular methods and ways of applying relational methods to attain sustainable development goals across organizations has been introduced. Findings Primary o… Show more

“…Several previous studies have emphasized the use of Internet of Things (IoT) tools such as RFID and how they influence the efficiency of supply chains to be smart (Atzori et al , 2017; Shokouhyar et al , 2017; Atzori et al , 2014). It was found that IoT can improve efficiency and innovation and create insights that transform the business to reduce expenses and improve business procedures (Shokouhyar et al , 2019).…”

“…For this, integration among supply chain links is required, which implies in cooperation, trust and coordination among them. For this integration, as emphasized by Chiappetta Jabbour et al (2020) and Shokouhyar et al (2019), technologies related to Industry 4.0 can be valuable tools. Ahi and Searcy (2013), analyzing definitions of green supply chain management and sustainable supply chain management, verified, in 2013, 22 definitions of the first term and 12 definitions of the second term.…”

“…Using green equipment and technology can be also a powerful competitive tool in this industry. For example, use of end-of-pipe technologies is an investment in pollution control that must be done jointly between telecommunication networks and manufacturers or suppliers (Shokouhyar et al , 2019).…”
