“…Serious violations of IHL include those identified by the Four Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocol I of 1949, which are applicable to international armed conflicts. IHL also applies during armed conflict, so both branches of law operate concurrently in a complementary manner (AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, 2015;MALETA, 2021). Amnesty International recommends that states assess in the arms export decision-making process whether the recipient state respects IHRL (e.g.…”

“…119 Rather, the most effective disciplinary action towards states with continuing controversial sales are legal suits brought by watchdog NGOs. 120 One such suit was brought by the Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) against the British Secretary of State for International Trade. 121 The British Court of Appeals ruled in favor of CAAT, reinforcing the legal requirement of the British government to consider alleged human rights violations by Saudi Arabia in Yemen.…”

“…http://www.hts.org.za Open Access silence on God's part is not a symptom of his displeasure but his remoteness as Creator. The Creator's remoteness implies that he is the first to speak and can choose to remain silent even if his creatures are in great danger (Jong 2013;Maletta 2021). In his speech and his silence, God acts according to his divine plan, which is a mystery to humanity; adversity does not always point to God's wrath and human transgression, and holy silence does not always indicate divine wrath (Kanov 2021).…”
