“…This is because the frequencies of the alkyl chain antisymmetric and symmetric stretching bands are very sensitive to the conformation of the hydrocarbon chain . The absorption bonds were observed at 2926 and 2853 cm −1 in the self-assembled microsphere, indicating the presence of an all-trans-zigzag form alkyl chain. , The eigenvalue of the carboxyl group also shifts from 1643 cm −1 of the powder to 1640 cm −1 of the microsphere. These results testify the existence of strong hydrogen-bonding interactions between OC and H−N as well as N−H and N−H bonding, which plays critical role in the formation of self-assembled nanobelt and highly ordered microsphere aggregate.…”

“…Alkyl amino ethylamides with variable straight alkyl chains have been investigated as gelators by Luo et al [68]. They concluded that a primary amino group and a secondary amide group along with an alkyl chain of an optimal length were all important components for the gelation process.…”

“…These result suggested that the gelation ability of 3 + 2 0 , 2 + 2 0 , 1 + 3 0 increased in turn. This may be related to hydrophile-lypophile balance of organogelator molecules [17,35,37]. Owning to endow with suitable alkyl chain length, 1 + 3 0 has good hydrophile-lypophile balance in toluene, leading to the best organogelator combination for toluene.…”
