“…Compared with that in air, the fracture surface in an Al 2 O 3 dust environment is rougher ( Figure 5B) in which Stage I is longer ( Figure 5, b 1 ). As can be seen in Figure 5 explored the effect of hard inclusions on the fatigue crack behaviour of steels by in situ observations with SEM, [36][37][38] finding that the fatigue crack always initiates at the interface between the inclusion and matrix if the long axis of the inclusion is perpendicular to the loading direction. Besides, the large inclusion (≥20 μm) can fracture easily during fatigue loading although it has a much greater elastic modulus than that of the steel matrix.…”

“…Based on the principle of SEM in-situ observation, the fatigue micro crack initiation and propagation behaviors of materials become possible in the random cycles. That is, the signal of SEM was directly transferred to a computer via a direct memory access type A/ D converter, marking it possible to sample 96012808 bit (or 192025608 bit) in one frame or over than frames of SEM images successively [13][14][15][16][17][18][44][45][46][47][48]. You can see why we can obtain the clear images from the presence of deformation specimen surface at less than 0.1 Hz based on the principle and skilled control technology.…”
