Separation and adsorption properties of poly styrene‐graft‐ethyl methacrylate copolymer for zinc, copper, and cobalt ions in water samples

Abstract: In this article, separation and adsorption properties of poly styrene-graft-ethyl methacrylate copolymer for zinc, copper, and cobalt ions in water samples were investigated. For this aim, some experimental and analytical parameters such as solution pH, sample flow rate, type of eluting agent, and sample solution volume were optimized. The adsorbed metal ions on polymeric resin were eluted with 5 ml of 2 mol l 21 HNO 3 and they were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In optimized conditions, t… Show more

“…In a typical ionic liquid microemulsion-mediated in situ thermosynthesis, the polymerization process of PAMs included the following steps: (1) [AMIM][PF 6 ] and [AMIM][Cl] at a different mass ratio were mixed at 60 C for 30 min. (2) The mixture of TX-100 and n-butanol at a mass ratio of 2:1 was added into the ionic liquids.…”

“…3). Preconcentration factors (PF) were obtained by the following equation: PF = (V S /V E ), where V S is the maximum volume of passed solution (200 mL) and V E is the volume of eluate (5 mL) [18,19]. A maximum PF was found to be 40.…”
