“…The only trial of antidepressant in transplant patients since 2020 comes from Tavakoli and looked at the effect of sertraline in HCT patients with depression. Sertraline was associated with significant reduction of depressive scores on HADS (65% versus placebo 10%, P < 0.0001) and the improvement of depressive symptoms were paralleled by the reduction of IL-6 levels; however, it did not correlate with IL-10 levels [79 ▪ ]. This study further supports the need to understand the relationship between mood and immunity in the transplant population.…”

“…A number of drugs, such as selegiline, duloxetine, citalopram, fluvoxamine, and mirtazapine, also have a beneficial effect in reducing negative symptoms. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) reduce IL-6 and CRP levels (58).…”

“…Minocycline is a second-generation tetracycline that works by reducing proinflammatory cytokines, and its effectiveness is emphasized, especially in the early and stable stages of the disease (58). Table 6 summarizes the most important findings related to pharmacotherapy for schizophrenia, including postadolescent schizophrenia.…”

“…Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo‐HSCT) is a promising treatment in patients with blood disorders. 1 It has been found that successful engraftment is critical in decreasing the relapse risk. Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) privilege over residual leukemic cells in the competition for limited spaces of bone marrow niche reduces the risk of disease recurrence.…”
