ÖzToplumsal cinsiyet, kadın ve erkeğin toplumsal rol ve sorumluluklarına ilişkin ipuçlarını barındırır. Toplum bir bireyin, cinsiyetini göz önünde bulundurarak rolünü ve taşıması gereken özellikleri belirler. Belirlenen bu rol ve özellikler o toplumun her bireyi tarafından bilinir. "Toplumsal cinsiyet" ve "teknoloji" kavramları arasındaki ilişki incelendiğinde ev içi üretim sürecinin emekçisi olarak görülen kadınlar, ev teknolojilerini kullanan en büyük grubu oluşturur. Ev teknolojileri ile ilgili olarak Cockburn (1997) ve Wajcman (1991a, 1991b tarafından yapılan çalışmalar, ev teknolojilerinin eşler arasındaki geleneksel cinsiyete dayalı işbölümünü desteklediğini vurgulamaktadır. Genellikle erkeklerin yapmayı üstlendikleri ev işleri, rutin olmayan, aralıklı, sürekli yapılması gerekmeyen ve genelde ev dışında yapılan işler olmaktadır. Erkek, ev teknolojileri ile kurduğu ilişkiyi, eşine yardımcı olmak olarak tarif eder. Bu da ev teknolojilerinin daha çok kadınlar tarafından kullanıldığı anlamına gelmektedir. Diğer bir ifade ile toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamında ev teknolojileri kullanımının cinsiyet eşitliğine katkıda bulunduğu düşünülemez.Anahtar Kelimler: Cinsiyet, Toplumsal Cinsiyet, Teknoloji, Ev Teknolojileri, Toplumsal Rol ve Sorumluluklar. Gender and Its Effect on Using Domestic Technology AbstractGender, determines women's and men's social roles and responsibilities in society. Society identifies the roles and also aspects of the roles of male and female need to carry. The role and its characteristics are known by every member of the society. Considering the relationship between "Gender" and "Technology", women who are seen as keepers in-house production process, are the largest group that use domestic technology mostly. The studies regarding domestic technologies conducted by Cockburn (1997) and Wajcman (1991a, 1991b emphasized that domestic technology supports traditional gender roles between spouses. The chores undertaken by males, are usually non-regular, non-continuous based and mostly carry out outside the home. Husbands describe his relationships with domestic technology as helping their wives which means domestic technology used more by women. In other words, the gender context is unthinkable that contributes to the gender equality in the use of domestic technology.

Despite their implications for careers, cultural goods and honours in the field of cultural production have rarely been examined as career events by culture researchers. More typically, cultural prizes are examined as they relate to the process of cultural valorization or are used to construct samples of venerated cultural products or producers for subsequent analysis. However, embedding cultural goods and distinctions in the career trajectories of cultural producers provides important neglected context. The example of the Academy Awards, the equivalent of a promotion in film acting, demonstrates the usefulness of the perspective. The research concludes that previously understood gendered age disparities are linked to earlier life course events, social networks, and structural factors that govern access to the career track. Implications for cultural policy are discussed.
