Amazon sailfin catfish is relatively a recent invader to the open waters of India, and studies on ecological assessment of the species within the Indian freshwaters are lacking. In the present study, to assess the ecological impact of catfish, we established mesocosms mimicking the Indian freshwaters within natural ponds of eastern India using three species of native fish, rohu, catla and mrigal, and for two size classes, small (10-20 cm length) and large (20-30 cm length) native fishes. Mesocosms were maintained with (test) and without the catfish (control), and length and weight of native fish, zooplankton abundance, and several hydrological and soil parameters were measured at a monthly interval for a period of 120-days. The catfish had a significant (P<0.05) negative impact on growth of small-size rohu only. However, we found no significant (P>0.05) differences in abiotic parameters and zooplankton abundance between control and test ponds for the small-size class. We speculate that reduced growth of rohu could be due to competition from catfish in the context of feeding, and not due to modification of abiotic environment. Thus, we emphasize upon the need for behavioral studies to further assess the impact of the catfish.

Kiko and Friends is an Indonesian animated children's series about a young goldfish and his best friends. The conflict in this animated series involves a catfish, the antagonist who causes various problems. Kiko and his friends embark on different adventures to solve these problems. The background of this journal is based on observational data obtained through linkage analysis of case study books and articles related to the Indonesian animated series titled Kiko and Friends. The objectives of this study are to examine the application of anthropomorphism, particularly in the character design of the series, and to conduct a personification analysis of the serial characters. By achieving these objectives, it is hoped that this journal will facilitate the process of character design and enhance understanding. This paper aims to support Indonesian animation works by analyzing the animation "Kiko and Friends," shedding light on how this animation is meticulously crafted, considering the thoughtful design of each character, to enhance its exposure and publication. This idea will be conveyed using the content analysis method, as described in the book "Video Game Design" by Michael Salmond, and an article written by Umarova Nigora Amirjon Qizi on The Linguistic Analysis of Differing Peculiarities between Anthropomorphism and Personification. First, the study will identify characters whose designs are influenced by personification and anthropomorphic theory. Then, each character will be analyzed in detail using the respective theory.

Human activity causes water pollution in Situ Cikaret and Situ Cilodong, in Bogor and Depok, West Java, respectively. The pollutant and toxicant altered the behaviour, anatomy, and physiology of fish in those habitats. This study aimed to analyze the histopathological features of fish gills in Situ Cikaret and Situ Cilodong. The physical and chemical parameters, including pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen (DO), were measured. Four fish species, Spotted barb fish (Barbodes binotatus), Amazon sailfin catfish (Pterygoplichthys pardalis), Yellow rasbora fish (Rasbora lateristriata), and Louhan fish (Amphilopus citrinellus) were collected. The gills were processed with paraffin, cut into 5 μm, and stained with hematoxylin-eosin. The histological features of Amazon sailfin catfish showed a normal feature, whilst the others showed an abnormality, including hyperplasia, leucocyte proliferation, secondary lamella fusion, vasodilatation, oedema, necrosis, and hypertropia mucus cells, and chloride cells. Although the temperatures, pH, and DO in this study were within the normal values, the abnormality of histological features indicated that Situ Cikaret and Situ Cilodong were polluted.
