SiC‐based active quasi‐Z‐source inverter with improved PWM control strategy

Abstract: In this study, an improved pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme was proposed for an active quasi-Z source inverter (AqZSI). Compared to the quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI), the AqZSI with improved PWM strategy can operate in a wide range of input voltage with higher efficiency. Furthermore, the AqZSI can operate with a higher modulation index, a lower inductor current stress, and a reduced shoot-through current. A procedure flowchart is presented for the optimal selection of the shootthrough duty cycle, the swit… Show more

“…To verify the characteristic of the proposed AZST-SVMs for M2S-qSBI, the power loss analysis is also determined. The power losses of the power switches, diodes, inductors, and capacitor are calculated as presented in [13], [16]. Because the conducting time and conducting current of the proposed AZST-SVM4 are the same as the proposed AZST-SVM2, only the switching loss of the semiconductor devices is presented in this section to perform the power loss analysis.…”
