Introduction: In general, parenting has been considered as the actions of socialization led by adults, which consider teenagers as unable people to achieve trajectories of the expected ideal development for girls and boys; on the other side the State despite of making progress about equity of these people, often turns their rights and necessities invisible. Materials and Methods: Through a systematic review of documents and databases such as ScienceDirect, Scopus, Dialnet, Pubmed, Proquest, Adolec; information in Spanish, English and Portuguese of the last ten years was gathered with keywords: parenting practices and teenagers, teenage mothers-fathers, public policies in adolescence; this review returned 84 publications with the pointed aspects. Results: Perceptions of the adolescent mothers and fathers are identified, their social interactions in the parenting exercise, guidelines and practices of parenting and the contributions that regarding their recognition as adolescent parents, the State establishes. Conclusions: It is necessary to identify the perceptions in both adolescent fathers and mothers, and build jointly Public Politics that lead to the increase of support networks to assume the new tasks of care and continue with the activities that the models and social systems impose.

Father involvement in childbirth introduction: Recent initiatives have promoted the participation of fathers in the early care of their children. Objective: To assess the results of a program to encourage parental involvement in childbirth. Parents of healthy term newborns were randomly allocated to participate either in the birth experience or control. patients and methods: The protocol included: to dry the skin, umbilical cord cutting off, weight, height, and finally give him/her to the mother for the skin-to-skin contact. Heart rate (HR), respiratory (RR) and temperature were evaluated one hour later. In the first outpatient clinic assessment, mothers completed a questionnaire. 127 fathers participated either in the birth experience or control. results: 62 followed the protocol and 65 the control. Both newborn groups were comparable. Also were fathers in age, education and rurality; mothers in primiparity. Significant differences: night care (37/62, 10/65 59.6% vs 15.4%, p < 0.01); post prandial assistance (50/62, 14/65 80.6% vs 21.5%, p < 0.01); participation in bathing (38/62, 61.3% vs 15/65, 23.1%, p < 0.01); newborn visit upon arrival at home (46/62, 74.2% vs 22/65, 33.8%, p < 0.01); helping in crying episodes (42/62, 67.7% vs 17/65, 26.1%, p < 0.01). There was stability in HR, RR and temperature one hour postpartum. Only one case of complication among parents (fainting). Conclusions: There were more cases of early care behaviors among participating fathers at birth, even belonging to a discouraging socio cultural environment. RESUMENFundamentos: Escasas investigaciones estudian la incorporación de la figura masculina a los servicios sanitarios durante el proceso de nacimiento de los hijos. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue explorar las necesidades y expectativas hacia los servicios sanitarios de un grupo de hombres sobre el proceso del nacimiento de sus criaturas. Métodos:Investigación cualitativa realizada en Granada en 2004, mediante entrevistas individuales a 10 padres con empleo remunerado, nivel de estudios medio-alto, al menos un hijo/a de 6 a 12 meses y perfil de corresponsabilidad en la crianza. La selección de los participantes fue intencional. Se hizo un análisis hermenéutico del discurso.Resultados: Se encuentran las siguientes construcciones semánticas: 1) El modelo asistencial dominante no considera protagonistas ni a las mujeres; 2) Aunque el proceso está corporalmente mediado cabe dar apoyo y luchar por la relevancia masculina; 3) Los servicios sanitarios invisibilizan a los hombres; 4) Coartan su participación; y 5) Les prejuzgan según el rol de género asignado. Los participantes tratan la relación entre expectativas sobre la atención al nacimiento y demanda insatisfecha, así como utilizan en buena medida los obstáculos para la participación que descubren en los servicios sanitarios, como argumentos de su propia separación del proceso.Conclusiones: Destaca el limitado protagonismo de los hombres durante el proceso. Ahora bien, a pesar de su discurso demandante, los entrevistados manifiestan actitudes contradictorias hacia unos cambios que les comprometen. The objective of this paper involves exploring the needs and expectations of the health services manifested by a group of fathers as a result of their experience during the birth process.Methods: Qualitative research was carried out in Granada in 2004 via individual interviews with fathers who showed shared responsibility in the upbringing. The profile is: employment, medium-high educational level, one or more child: 0-6 months of age. The transcript was subsequently submitted to hermeneutic analysis.Results: Some semantic constructs are: 1) Health Services do not concede the women as protagonists, 2) Birth process is depending on the body. Fathers can only support and fight for the relevance of men, 3) Men seem like "invisible", 4) Health services inhibit their participation, and 5) have dealings with fathers according to their gender roles.
