Simple and versatile heterodyne whole-field interferometer for phase optics characterization

Abstract: A wavefront sensor for thermally induced lens and passive lens characterization based on lowcoherence digital speckle interferometry was developed and studied. By illuminating the optical setup with two slightly detuned red diode lasers, whole-field contour interference fringes were generated according to the resulting synthetic wavelength. For fringe pattern visualization the optical setup used the light transmitted through a ground glass plate as object beam. The performance of the sensor was investigated an… Show more

“…For instance, a white point optical stylus system has been developed by the Bosch Company and exclusively integrated on the Mar-Form-MFU100 apparatus [7]. It consists of a millimeter-sized optical stylus probe for form and shape measurements with less than 1 m accuracy [8]. Its operation principle is based on a short coherence heterodyne interferometry divided into two subsystems: a modulation interferometer and a small robust optical probe connected through a single monomode optical fiber.…”

“…Em ambos os casos, dois lasers com emissão na região do vermelho foram convenientemente sintonizados pelo ajuste na corrente de alimentação e alinhados para gerar uma frequência sintética, permitindo a caracterização térmica de materiais fotônicos [24] e a medida de potência óptica ao longo de toda a área tanto de lentes esféricas, quanto de lentes progressivas [25].…”
