Abstract:Using differential scanning calorimetry, preferential interaction between melittin and dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine was observed in various binary mixtures of phospholipids. It is shown that matching of the hydrophobic regions between melittin and fatty acyl chains of phospholipids is the most important factor.
