Assorted climatic conditions such as irradiation, temperature and shading due to clouds, trees, buildings, communication towers etc. has an unavoidable impact on the output of solar photovoltaic (PV) system. This creates a need for the analytical performance study of solar PV system in changing atmospheric condition in order to design and install an optimized solar PV system for both, stand alone and grid connected. The present work shows the developed PV model in MATLAB codes and simulation is done under varying climate conditions showing change in irradiation and temperature using different arrangements of PV system. PV parameters are obtained in different setup and I-V and P-V characteristics of the developed model of the PV modules are analyzed. A comparative study of the parameters obtained is quite beneficial for an optimized design of the PV system under different atmospheric conditions.

The sun is a plenty and popular source of renewable energy. To transform solar energy into electricity it is necessary to use photovoltaic (PV) panels which in turn have flow efficiency and therefore do not provide maximum power. Maximum power depends on temperature and solar radiation. Changes in these environmental factors require an algorithm to find the Maximum Power Point (MPP) where maximum power can be extracted. The algorithm is called the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). Through MatLab=Simulink the MPPT algorithm based on the Kalman Filter was implemented. The MPPT algorithm is essential for the maximum use of solar energy and therefore plays an important role for the feasibility and competitiveness of PVs in renewable energy. This article proposes a MPPT based on the kalman filter that has the advantage of efficiently estimating variables based on measurements with statistical noise, in this case measurements of solar irradiation and temperature. The results show efficiency because the relative errors are less than 1.13% compared to results obtained from simulink.

Nowadays, one of the primary kinds of renewable energies is photovoltaic (PV) systems. In standalone PV systems, the battery charge controller plays an important role in the system efficiency. In the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controller, due to adjusting the voltage level and tracking the maximum power, DC-DC converter and MPPT algorithm are used. ZETA converter, as a DC-DC converter, offers a low output ripple. In the proposed MPPT charge controller, a DC-DC ZETA converter accompanied by a P&O (perturb and observe) algorithm will be used for tracking maximum power. Furthermore, over-charging and gassing are phenomena that may reduce the battery life by increasing the battery's temperature. To overcome this obstacle, the proposed three-stage charging method, which is the battery charging voltage levels (bulk, absorption, and float) are based on the battery temperature. The proposed MPPT charge controller is used for providing lower temperature for the battery when being charged. By comparing the proposed MPPT charge controller with the conventional method, the simulation results can ensure the desired performance of the proposed charge controller.
