Simulation of an unified control scheme for different Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Abstract: One of the key points of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) is the energy management of such complex systems. In order to achieve a good energy management of a HEV, a global management and local management should be considered mutually. Many works have been done about HEV global management under the assumption that each subsystem is well controlled. But the local management must take the global system into account. In this paper, a unified control structure suitable for different HEVs is introduced. It is deduced… Show more

“…The common EMR offers a better understanding of the main power flows of different HEVs. From this common EMR, a unified control scheme has been deduced [9], which can be used for the study of series, parallel, and series-parallel HEVs, just by setting different parameter values. Using this top-down approach, the modeling and control design of different HEVs have been achieved in a general way.…”

“…EMR is an energy-based graphical description that gives insights into the real energy operation of the system and allows a deep understanding of its potentialities from a dynamic point of view [26,27]. EMR is used in the global modeling and strategy simulation for the EVT based HEV system; and a control scheme is deduced from the EMR models using specific inversion rules.…”

“…The Energetic Macroscopic Representation (EMR) has been introduced as a graphical descriptor approach offering a macroscopic energetic view of multiphysics system [16]- [18]. EMR offers an inversion-based control contributing to the controller design and the implementation of energy management strategies.…”
