Simulation Study for the Separation of Rare Isotopes at the Seoul National University AMS Facility

Abstract: ABSTRACT.A simulation study for the separation of rare isotopes such as beryllium and aluminum was performed for a new beam line to be attached to the 3MV Tandetron accelerator at the accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) facility of Seoul National University in Korea. The new beam line will also be used for other scientific applications, namely, ion implantations, Rutherford backscattering, and nuclear astrophysics experiments. It mainly consists of 30° and 100° deflection dipole magnets and drift spaces. A tra… Show more

“…There are three main types of data on <Princess Bari>: data recorded and saved as text and published as a book, data published as a book, and sound and video data on <Princess Bari>. In addition, there are materials that were published in books by organizing documents passed down from the mu system, but since these materials are not performance materials, they do not include the performers, places of recording, and the time of recording [20].…”

“…The new beam-line for 10 Be AMS was designed using the TRANSPORT code [1]. To simulate the trajectory of a charged particle through the new beam line, we performed a computation using a ray tracing method which included higher order aberrations.…”

“…Simulation by a ray tracing method using the ''TURTLE'' code predicted the suitability of the 3 MV Seoul system for the separation of Al and Be isotopes from their respective isobars. 47 The design of a new high-intensity Cs-ion source and sample changer was based on current best practice for the two parts and followed modelling of various aspects of the ion optics. 48 Simulations were performed for the trajectories of Cs 1 ions emitted from the surface of the spherical ionizer and for the secondary ion trajectories.…”
