Simultaneous Determination of Chromium, Nickel and Selenium by Voltammetric Techniques

Abstract: A procedure for simultaneous determination of chromium, nickel and selenium in their model mixtures, using adsorption stripping voltammetry (AdSV) for chromium and nickel and cathodic stripping voltammetry (CSV) for selenium is proposed. The effect of the adsorption time, pH, presence of possibly interfering anions, molar ratio of Cr, Ni and Se and the order of their determination in solution on the sensitivity peaks was examined. By a suitable choice of all these parameters, a simultaneous determination of th… Show more

“…the faradic current connected with the electrode reaction during stripping. Traces of chromium were also determined by means of AdSV after binding Cr(III) ions, stable or instantaneous, with the selected ligands forming complexes such as dimethyldioxime (DMG) [84], diphenylcarbazide [85,86], pyrocatechol violet [87,88], 4-(2-pyridilazo)-resorcinol (PAR) [89] and DTPA [90], which are then adsorbed on the surface of the indicative electrode.…”
