“…A validated capillary zone electrophoresis method coupled with ultraviolet detection has been described for the determinations of atropine and scopolamine in ophthalmic solutions [18] and the main tropane alkaloids in Hyoscyamus muticus [24 -26], Datura metel [27] or Flos daturae [28] plants. Hyoscyamine and scopolamine in plant extracts can also be detected using micellar electrokinetic chromatographic method with ultraviolet detection [22,23]. This work proposed a novel method for simultaneous determination of atropine, scopolamine and anisodamine in Flos daturae plants with CE coupled with electrochemiluminescence (ECL) detection using b-cyclodextrin as a buffer additive to improve their separation.…”

“…The hairy roots in Capsicum species was initiated through A. rhizogenes strains has also been reported (Setamam et al, 2014). From the research findings of (Vanhala et al, 1995;Mateus et al, 2000) where they reported that Agrobacterium infection was shown to increase root growth and higher accumulation of alkaloids and tropane content in Hyoscyamus muticus transgenic root cultures. Gentiana macrophyllahairy root cultures were evaluated after infection with four A. rhizogenes strains, where different responses were observed in each hairy root linefor their root growth and also for accumulation of secoiridoid glucoside, gentiopicroside (Tiwari et al, 2007).…”

“…Hyoscyamus a small herbaceous genus having 26 species all over the world (Yousaf et al 2008) and is represented by 6 species in Turkey (Baytop 1978;Güner et al 2000;Güner 2012). Hyoscyamus species have medicinal importance because of their hyoscyamine and scopolamine content (Mateus et al 1998(Mateus et al , 2000. Therefore, it is widely used as sedative and painless in folk medicine (Baytop 1999).…”
