“…Photocatalytic reactions for hydrogen (H 2 ) evolution were carried out in a CEL-SPH2N water splitting system (China Education Aulight Co., LTD) with a 300 Xe-arc lamp (CEL-HXF 300) attached with a cut-off filter (λ420 nm). Pt (1 wt%) was loaded on the surface of the samples as co-catalyst via the photodeposition method [20], using H 2 PtCl 6 aqueous solution as precursors. Pt-modified photocatalyst (100 mg) was added to 100 mL of water containing 10 mL of triethanolamine as sacrificial agent.…”

“…Compared with those of TPPA and CdS, the EPR signal of CdS@TPPA2 enhances obviously whether under light or dark, originating from a much higher unpaired electron concentration, which is conducive to the proton reduction [ 41 ]. Moreover, the EPR signals of all three samples are stronger under visible light irradiation than those in dark, implying an increase in the concentration of unpaired electrons due to the photoinduced charge separation [ 42 ]. These results unveil that core-shell CdS@TPPA nanospheres have a more delocalized structure in comparison to pristine TPPA, which can favor the charge migration and then inhibit the charge recombination [ 43 ].…”

“…[ 39 ] In addition, the g value of Hf‐g‐C 3 N 4 slightly decreased from 2.0037 to 2.0032, which further revealed that the unpaired electron density increased or the electron delocalization enhanced. [ 40 ] Therefore, the increase of carbon content, Bandgap structure changes and hollow structure can help to improve photoelectron transfer, enhance reduction potential and increase light scattering inside and light utilization efficiency, respectively. The synergistic effects of these factors facilitate qualitative change in the properties of the material.…”
