Single‐phase high‐voltage gain switched LC Z‐source inverters

Abstract: Recently, switched-inductor Z-source inverters (SL-ZSIs) have been reported to achieve high-voltage gain and good power inversion operation at low shoot-through duty ratio D as compared to conventional ZSI. As the SL-ZSIs have high passive component count, weight, volume and losses of the system increases that lead to reduction in efficiency. To address the issues of conventional ZSI and SL-ZSIs, two single-phase switched LC (SLC)-ZSIs (Type 1 SLC-ZSI and Type 2 SLC-ZSI) are proposed in this study to achieve h… Show more

“…Figures 12c and 12d present the voltage and current signals on the inductors L 1 and L 2 respectively. These figures can confirm many of the equations especially (6), (7) and (16). Figure 2 presents the state of the output voltage for the Z source inverter in both CCM and DCM working conditions.…”

“…Besides, their reliability is affected due to EMI noise. Some studies have been conducted in investigating the inverters' structures so as to connect to micro-grid applications [2]- [7]. Inverters can be categorized into two structures: isolated and non-isolated structures.…”

“…The range of modulation ratio m is discussed based on the open-loop condition. According to (8), the d i ′ can be obtained as: (14) Because d i + d i ′<1, the duty cycle d i can be expressed as: According to (7), sinωt i ∈ (0 1), the range of modulation ratio m can be derived as: (16) When the intermediate variable U C1 is represented by an independent variable m. According to (16), the range of modulation ratio m can be derived as: (17)…”

“…The Z-Source inverter is a power converter topology proposed in 2003 by Peng Fangzheng of Michigan State University [7]. The inverter can adjust the DC-link voltage and allow the shoot-through state [8][9][10]. The Z-Source network consists of two pairs of symmetrical inductors, capacitors, and an input diode.…”
