The management of laboratory biosafety is facing vital difficulties around the world, especially for a large number of biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories. The purpose of this paper is to propose two indicator systems for both a single laboratory and the unit level (the whole company, school, department, hospital, or organization). Based on the comprehensive indicator systems, 14 experts were asked to rate the indicators. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to obtain the weights of the indicators. The indicator systems can help the laboratory staff in BSL-2 laboratories to control and reduce biological risks. Moreover, it can contribute to the management of laboratory biosafety for administrators and government departments.

The proliferation and increasing application of modern technology have led to the improvement of tactics used to teach to play guzheng, the Chinese national instrument. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) for this purpose to argue on the possibility of reforming guzheng instruction in Chinese schools. The basis of this investigation was represented by a specially developed MOOC and an online survey. Verification of the collected data was made by means of Fisher’s exact test. As research participants, 88 seventh graders and 10 teachers from three schools in China (China, Taiyuan, Jinzhong) were invited. The time frame this study covered was from February to June of the 2020-2021 academic year. The outcomes obtained from the conducted experiment indicate that the lowest grades were obtained by students who took traditional guzheng lessons and did not take advantage of online learning (71.1, 72.9, and 73.0 for each institution, with an average of 72.3). At the same time, the results of respondents who were additionally involved in the dedicated MOOC were notably higher: 78.8, 78.1, and 79.2, with an average of 78.7 (8.1% better). These data show that the use of modern technology when teaching students to play guzheng is effective. The outcomes of the survey on students’ impressions from the proposed learning course and its usefulness revealed that 98% of all the persons involved were satisfied with their participation in the MOOC. Students showed high support for the statements claiming MOOC’s positive impact on teachers’ intercultural professionalism in guzheng teaching and overall approach to instruction. The practical and scientific significance of this study resides in the fact that it demonstrates the effectiveness of modern technology, particularly distance learning platforms, in the context of guzheng learning. This paper demonstrates clearly that through the use of additional multimedia, better results can be achieved.

The current COVID-19 global pandemic poses immense challenges to global health, largely due to the difficulty to detect infection in the early stages of the disease, as well as the current lack of effective antiviral therapy. Research and understanding of the human immune system can provide important theoretical and technical support for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, the clinical implementations of which include immunoassays and immunotherapy, which play a crucial role in the fight against the pandemic. This review consolidates the current scientific evidence for immunoassay, which includes multiple methods of detecting antigen and antibody against SARS-CoV-2. We compared the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and clinical applications of these three detection techniques. In addition to detecting viral infections, knowledge on the body’s immunity against the virus is desirable; thus, the immunotherapy-based neutralizing antibody (nAb) detection methods were discussed. We also gave a brief introduction to the new immunoassay technology such as biosensing. This was followed by an in-depth and extensive review on a variety of immunotherapy methods. It includes convalescent plasma therapy, neutralizing antibody–based treatments targeting different regions of SARS-CoV-2, immunotherapy targeted on the host cell including inhibiting the host cell receptor and cytokine storm, as well as cocktail antibodies, cross-neutralizing antibodies, and immunotherapy based on cross-reactivity between viral epitopes and autoepitopes and autoantibody. Despite the development of various immunological testing methods and antibody therapies, the current global situation of COVID-19 is still tense. We need more efficient detection methods and more reliable antibody therapies. The up-to-date knowledge on therapeutic strategies will likely help clinicians worldwide to protect patients from life-threatening viral infections.
