Sintesis Magnesium Oksida (MgO) dari Dolomit Bangkalan dengan Metode Leaching

Abstract: Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a ceramic material that has potential in the medical and industrial fields, where MgO can be obtained from natural dolomite which has a composition of 21.9% MgO and 54.3% CaCO3. However, MgO from dolomite has not been studied much so that this study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the effect of the holding time of calcination on the synthesized MgO phase. The MgO synthesis method uses the Leaching method, which is dissolving dolomite with HCl and stirring it at 75 ° C for 45 mi… Show more

“…The functional groups of the synthesized MgO nanoparticle sample can be identified by carrying out FTIR characterization, where the test is in the wave number range of 4,000 -500 cm −1, the results of which are shown in The FTIR spectrum also detected bonding and interaction of Mg-O at wave numbers 947.04 and 1,494.83 cm −1 , indicating the presence of MgO compounds [22]. At wave number 1,652.99 cm −1 , C = O stretching occurs, indicating the presence of a carbonyl group [21,23]. Weak absorption occurred at 3,438.80 and 2,829.57 cm −1 , which could be associated with OH stretching and bonding.…”

“…This is related to the presence of anti-clay ingredients that play a role in changing the brightness of the product. According to Saputri and Rohmawati (2021), magnesium oxide (MgO) is a solid mineral that has a white color. Magnesium oxide is nano-sized which has broad potential in the industrial field.…”
