This study is based on a description of Indonesian family profile data as reflected in the results of the Inter-Census Population Survey (2015) which shows that Indonesian families are not that severe or vulnerable. In 2016, there were actually fewer married couples than in 2013. but increased slightly until 2018. On the other hand, the number of divorces continues to increase. This means that the number of families separating due to divorce in Indonesia is increasing. Divorce data shows that more and more families experience shocks to their family ties every year. More than 400,000 families experienced this shock in 2018. This is a very serious issue and must be addressed immediately. The most common cause of divorce was long-term arguments or arguments (44,8%), followed by financial problems (27,17%), domestic separation (17,55%), domestic violence (2,15%), and consumer lifestyle Alcohol (0,85%). Therefore, this research is a cultural study using semiotic analysis (semiotics), that is, the study of symbols in social life, that is, the study of how symbols are generated and used in society. The result of this research is to provide the target community with cultural symbols and signs that represent the values that memayu hayuning bawana adhere to and still practice in their lives. In conclusion, the cultural values of memayu hayuning bawana are effective in strengthening the resilience of Javanese families

Nowadays, many people are attracted to almost extinct traditions, such as Ngaras and Siraman, in Sundanese weddings. Prominent figures, celebrities, actresses/actors, and ordinary people have re-implemented these traditions, but only a few know the content and local wisdom of the practices. This study aimed to examine Ngaras and Siraman and explore the local wisdom values of the traditions used to build students' character through education. The research method used was descriptive-qualitative analysis. Data were collected through literature and documentation review. The analysis revealed thatt Ngaras and Siraman are rituals done before akad nikah (marriage covenant). There are values of Sundanese local wisdom presented by the traditions when viewed from the practice, meaning, and function. First, the values are Trisilas (Three Bases), Catur Jati Diri Insani (Superior Human), and Gapura Pancawaluya (the Gate of Five Pillars of Completeness). Second, these values serve as good moral practices related to someone's relationships with God, himself, other human beings, nature, and time. Third, such values form morals function to pursue further implementation of ethno-pedagogy in school.

Gantangan adalah tradisi yang ada dalam kegiatan hajatan di Kabupaten Subang. Tradisi ini telah tumbuh dan berkembang di masyarakat setempat. Selain itu, tradisi ini mengajarkan masyarakat untuk berinteraksi sosial yang memiliki makna mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui praktik, peran dan nilai-nilai budaya tradisi gantangan di masyarakat Kabupaten Subang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara melakukan pengamatan seacara langsung di lapangan, wawancara, pendokumentasian, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini sebagai berikut : (1) tradisi gantangan bermula dari kegiatan para lelaki saat menyebar undangan hajatan dengan menggunakan sebungkus rokok dan tamu undangan menyumbang dengan menggunakan sejumlah uang, selanjutnya kegiatan tersebut berubahan menjadi kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh perempuan dengan menggunakan sabun sebagai alat undang serta beras sebagai alat sumbangnya; (2) tradisi gantangan secara tidak langsung menjadi pendukung keberlangsungan hidup perekonomian masyarakat dan seni budaya yang ada di Kabupaten Subang; (3) tradisi gantangan terlahir dari kepedulian masyarakat terhadap individu yang akan melaksanakan acara hajatan, selain itu kegiatan tersebut juga mengandung nilai-nilai budaya seperti hakikat hidup, hakikat karya manusia, hakikat ruang dan waktu, hakikat dengan alam, dan hakikat sesama manusia yang bisa dijadikan sebagai tuntunan oleh masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup.
