“…Defined as action possibilities available in an environment, affordances emerge from the relationships between human subjects and inhuman objects, for example, mediated technologies such as social media platforms and digital communication channels (Evans et al, 2017). The affordance framework provides a relational lens for scholars to explain divergent human behavior in various media environments (Mao & DeAndrea, 2019;Zhou, 2021), characterize emerging technologies' opportunities for human interactions (Shin et al, 2020;Velasco, 2016), and critique the consequences of technological development on stakeholders, organizations, and societies (Kozinets et al, 2021;Rice et al, 2017).
