“…However, EtOH, which is a common antiseptic and disinfectant used to clean and disinfect wounds, is not routinely used in wound dressings, given that prolonged EtOH exposure can impair the proliferative response during healing, and cause delays in epithelial coverage, collagen synthesis, and blood vessel regrowth . However, recent evidence on some of the advantages of EtOH-treated or -embedding wound dressings and scaffolds has started to emerge.
