SNHG10/miR‐141‐3p/WTAP axis promotes osteosarcoma proliferation and migration

Abstract: LncRNAs have been suggested to participate in the growth and metastasis of cancer through a variety of molecular mechanisms. Recently, SNHG10, a newly discovered lncRNA, is reported to play a role of an oncogene in osteosarcoma (OS) genesis. Nonetheless, the mechanism underlying OS remains unclear. The present work found that SNHG10 expression increased within OS cells and tissues, while suppressing its expression decreased OS cell proliferation, migration, invasion, but increased their apoptosis. As for the m… Show more

“…[29] Nonetheless, the expression and mecha- MiRNAs can bind with mRNA to regulate target gene levels posttranscriptionally, so as to regulate mRNA expression level. [30][31][32][33] As suggested by dual-luciferase reporter assays, HMGB3 was served as miR-1294′s target. As an oncogene, HMGB3 is related to cancer cell progression.…”

“…WTAP, which is mainly regulated by ncRNAs in cancers, is commonly up‐regulated in many cancer types [ 156 , 157 ]. In osteosarcoma, SNHG10 up‐regulates WTAP through decreasing miR‐141‐3p expression [ 158 ]. In BCA, circ0008399 binds to WTAP to promote the formation of MTC [ 159 ].…”

“…Therefore, ceRNA regulatory network can be used as an indicator for prognosis [ 75 ]. LncRNA SNHG10 competes for binding miR-141-3p by acting as a ceRNA to upregulate WTAP expression in osteosarcoma [ 76 ]. In pancreatic cancer, lncRNA DUXAP8 competitively binds miR-448 to upregulate WTAP expression [ 77 ].…”

“…lncRNA SNHG10 silencing leads to the inhibition of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and the promotion of apoptosis. These phenotypes were rescued upon WTAP overexpression [ 76 ].…”
