“…Social loafing has been found to occur on tasks that require physical effort (e.g., swimming; see Williams, Nida, Baca, & Latane, 1989), rowing and hand grip (Hardy, 1989), running (Huddleston, Doody, & Ruder, 1985), and cognitive effort such as reacting to proposals (Brickner, Harkins, & Ostrom, 1986), solving mazes (Jackson & Williams, 1985), ROES: September 1996 and evaluating essays (Petty, Harkins, & Williams, 1980).
