“…Mohammadi et al 10 did an exergy‐economic investigation on the replacement of feedwater heaters of Rankine cycles with PTCs and concluded that by this measure the power generation rate of the plant may increases by 8.14% while the payback period of that is only 1.5 years. Alam et al 11 investigated the feasibility of feedwater heating by solar energy for conventional steam power plants and found out that the use of their proposed solar system for higher pressure feedwater heater is more economically realistic than the lower pressure feedwater heater. Pierce 12 studied the effectiveness of feedwater solar preheating by PTCs for a case study in South Africa and revealed that the total annual electricity production of the plant will increase by 25% in this way.…”
