Solution of the Problem of Annular Space Gas Utilization in Wells Operated by Walking-Beam Pumping Unit

Abstract: This article presents new approaches to solving one of the problems encountered in many oil fields - the disposal of gas accumulating in the annular space of production wells operated by walking-beam pumping units. This question is relevant because the accumulation of gas and the increase in its pressure affects the depression reduction and the fall of the dynamic level of the liquid, adversely affecting the downhole pumping equipment operation. Critical annular pressure is a value above 10 atm. Traditionally … Show more

“…When drilling horizontal wells in conditions of high geological heterogeneity and high number of reservoir beds, it is recommended to carry out development using the multistage hydraulic fracturing technology in order to increase productivity [10][11][12][13][14]. Figure 7 shows how the developed fracture length increases oil production.…”

“…To create reliable and efficient jet pumps for oil production, it is necessary to develop a theory of their operation. Theoretical issues related to the operation of jet pumps in oil wells were considered in the works in [21,22]. Practical issues related to the efficiency and reliability of pumping equipment are considered in [23][24][25].…”

“…Piston compressors are mainly used for these purposes [18,19]. The main effect of using this method is the additional oil production due to increasing the dynamic fluid level in the well and the pump's volumetric flow efficiency [20]. Gas bleeding or evacuating from the annulus leads to a change in pressure and temperature conditions in the wellbore [3].…”
