“…The vacuolation, elongation and disintegration of the epithelial cells, as well as the disappearance of muscularis and regenerative cells, detachment of the basement membranes, ect … had been observed in the mid gut of S. exigua by the action of diflubenzuron, malathion and cypermethrin (Younes et al, 2000). In addition, similar or other histopathological changes had been reported for some CSIs on different insects (Ker, 1977;Mitsui et al, 1980;Radwan et al, 1986).…”

“…They suggested that the treatment might have produced a nutritional unbalance in food that subsequently increased the coefficient of food utilization. Also, Radwan et al (1986) observed an increase in the efficiency of conversion of ingested food in the 4 th instar of S. littoralis treated with diflubenzuron or trifluron. Slama, K. (1995): Hormonal status of RH-5849 and RH-5992 synthetic ecdysone agonists (ecdysoids) examined on several standard bioassays for ecdysteroids.…”

“…SUNDARAMURTHY (1977) reported that when final instar larvae of Spodoptera litura (F.) were fed on leaves of castor (Ricinus communis) that had been treated with various concentration (up to 0.01 Yo) of diflubenzuron, resulted in reduction in food consumption and weight gained by the larvae. RADWAN et al (1986) reported that fourth instar larvae of the noctuid Spodoptera littoralis were fed on castor bean leaves treated with the chitin biosynthesis disruption agents diflubenzuron and its analogue SIR-8514 (Triflumuron). There was a reduction in the consumption of food into body substance.…”
