The aim of this meta-synthesis is to determine the findings of qualitative research on prospective teacher training in Turkey, the aspects of future prospective teacher training programs, and the deep knowledge and insights in them. Fourteen studies dealing with new prospective teacher training program using qualitative methods introduced in Turkey in 2016 were included in this meta-synthesis. As a result of the analyses, four themes were revealed; mentoring, contribution of prospective teacher training to teacher education, activities, evaluation, and problems encountered in the execution of the program. Then, a second level abstraction was performed, and syntheses were made as follows; 1) mentor selection and workload, 2) professional development, 3) program content and planning, 4) school context, and 5) program accountability. These syntheses point out the aspects that need to be focused on in the in the process of prospective teacher training program development.

ARTICLE INFOInterdisciplinary approach could be defined as combining different lessons to illuminate a particular concept, problem or subject from different perspectives. The use of this approach in the learning and teaching, makes the views of teachers who are the implementers of the process, important. The aim of this research is to reveal teachers' views on the use of interdisciplinary approach in Social Studies courses. The research is designed as one of the qualitative research models, the phenomenology pattern. The study group is consisted of 18 volunteer teachers that are working in secondary schools in various provinces of Turkey under the National Ministry of Education. The data obtained were analyzed using the content analysis technique. As a result of the research, it is seen that teachers consider the interdisciplinary approach as important and necessary, beneficial and effective in learning and positive in terms of student development. Social studies teachers mostly benefit from Turkish, Science and Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge courses and cooperate with their teachers. Teachers state that while making interdisciplinary connections, they pay attention to learning and understanding of acquisition and learning. Teachers think that the approach is most useful in completing deficiencies. Regarding the limitations of the approach, the teachers state that they have problems in terms of suitability to the subject and competence.

Bu araştırmada, ortaokul sosyal bilgiler dersinin öğrenci velileri tarafından ne anlam ifade ettiğinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde Ankara ili merkez ilçesinde bulunan ortaokullarda öğrenim gören öğrenci velilerinden oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunun seçiminde amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma nitel yöntemde durum çalışması şeklinde kurgulanmıştır. Araştırmada veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından uzman görüşlerine de başvurularak hazırlanmış olan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Uygulama sonrasında katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, ortaokul sosyal bilgiler dersinin öğrenci velileri açısından ne anlam ifade ettiği ile ilgili bulgular hakkında değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinden hareketle yapılan içerik analizinde bulgular üç temel boyut altında toplanmıştır. Bunlardan birincisi "Düşüncede Sosyal Bilgiler", ikincisi, "Öğrenci Açısından Sosyal Bilgiler" ve "Diğer Derslerin Yanında Sosyal Bilgiler"dir. Bununla birlikte veliler sosyal bilgiler dersini, sosyalleşmeyi sağlamadaki katkısı, bilgi beceri kazandırması, duyarlı bireyler yetiştirilmesine aracı olması anlamında önemli görürlerken dersin çevreye ait bilgilerin kazanılmasında ve milli bilinç oluşturmada da etkili olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir.
