Spanish Adaptation and Validation of the Outcome Questionnaire OQ-30.2

Abstract: This study assessed the psychometric properties of a Spanish version of the Shortened Outcome Questionnaire (OQ-30.2, Lambert et al., 2004) validated with a sample of 546 patients in an outpatient mental health clinic and 100 non-clinical adults in Chile. Our results show that this measure has similar normative data to the original measure, with a cutoff score for the Chilean population set at 43.36, and the reliable change index at 14. This Spanish OQ-30.2 has good internal consistency (α = 0.90), has concurr… Show more

“…Scores below 44 points suggest that the person is less disturbed than the general population. The OQ‐30 has been recently adapted with a Chilean sample (Errázuriz, Opazo, Behn, Silva, & Gloger, ) and yielded a high estimated internal consistency with a Cronbach Alpha of .88, presented high concurrent validity with a comparable measure, and showed adequate sensitivity to change.…”

“…The OQ‐30.2 has been found to have good internal consistency (.90), good concurrent validity (with the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales: r = 82) and sensitivity to change. The Spanish version of the OQ 30.2 (Errazuriz, Opazo, Behn, Gloger & Ramirez, ) preserves adequate psychometric properties.…”

“…See Table 1 for detailed information of these measures according the type of study and the country where they were used. We classified the OMs into two groups: one group contained those measures that can be considered as global measures of psychological distress (Tarescavage & Ben-Porath, 2014): OQ-45.2 (Lambert et al, 1996), OQ-30.2 (Errázuriz et al, 2017), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995), Outcome Rating Scale (Miller & Duncan, 2000), and Psychological Well-being Scale (Ryff, 1989). The second group contained all those measures that assess symptoms specific to some psychological disorder, e.g., BDI (Beck et al, 1996).…”
