The knowledge of the spatial distribution, sources, and air–soil exchange of polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) in an oilfield area is essential to the development of effective control practices of PAC pollution. In this study, 48 passive air samples and 24 soil samples were collected during 2018–2019 in seven functional areas (e.g., urban, oil field, suburban, industrial, agricultural, near pump units, and background) in the Yellow River Delta (YRD) where the Shengli Oilfield is located, and 18 parent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and five alkylated-PAHs (APAHs) were analyzed from all the air and soil samples. The ΣPAHs in the air and soil ranged from 2.26 to 135.83 ng/m3 and 33.96 to 408.94 ng/g, while the ΣAPAHs in the atmosphere and soil ranged from 0.04 to 16.31 ng/m3 and 6.39 to 211.86 ng/g, respectively. There was a downward trend of atmospheric ΣPAH concentrations with increasing the distance from the urban area, while both ΣPAH and ΣAPAH concentrations in the soil decreased with distance from the oilfield area. PMF analyses show that for atmospheric PACs, coal/biomass combustion was the main contributor in urban, suburban, and agricultural areas, while crude production and processing source contributes more in the industrial and oilfield area. For PACs in soil, densely populated areas (industrial, urban, and suburban) are more affected by traffic sources, while oilfield and near-pump unit areas are under the impact of oil spills. The fugacity fraction (ff) results indicated that the soil generally emitted low-molecular-weight PAHs and APAHs and act as a sink for high-molecular-weight PAHs. The incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) of Σ(PAH+APAH) in both the air and soil, were below the threshold (≤10−6) set by the US EPA.

Artan nüfus ve kentleşme beraberinde birçok hava kirliliğini getirmekte ve bunun sonucunda bronşit, astım, kalp krizi, akciğer hastalığı, kanser ve erken ölüm gibi hava kirliliğinin neden olduğu hastalıklara neden olmaktadır. İnsanlar, özellikle kentsel alanlarda yaşayanlar, zamanlarının %90'ından fazlasını iç mekanlarda geçirdikleri için, son zamanlarda dış ortam havasının yanı sıra iç hava kalitesine de dikkat çekmeye başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, Kocaeli'deki 80 evin iç ve dış mekan tozları 2016 yılı Şubat ve Mart aylarında eş zamanlı olarak toplanmıştır. 16 Poliaromatik Hidrokarbon (PAH), 14 Polibromlu difenil eter (PBDE) ve 15 Poliklorlu bifenil (PCB) için toz örnekleri analiz edilmiştir. Tozda ölçülen tüm kirletici konsantrasyonlarının ortalama iç/dış mekan (I/O) oranları birden büyük bulunması endüstriyel şehirde bile iç mekan tozundaki PAH'lar, PBDE'ler ve PCB'ler için iç mekan kaynaklarının önemini ortaya koymuştur. PAH (1,1-3,2 arasında) için ölçülen I/O oranları PBDE (1,9 ila 7,2 arasında) ve PCB (1,8-7,9 arasında) I/O’larına göre düşüktür. PBDE ve PCB I/D oranları birbirine yakın değerler bulunmuştur. Kocaeli gibi sanayi ve trafik yoğun bir şehirde bile I/D oranlarının 1’den büyük olması ve PBDE ve PCB için bu değerlerin yaklaşık 8 kata kadar çıkması iç ortam hava kalitesinin önemini göstermektedir. İç ortam hava kalitesini düzenlemek için bazı önlemler dikkate alınmalıdır.

RationaleRapid on‐site detection of persistent organic pollutants (POP) is highly desirable for environmental protection.MethodsHerein, a rapid on‐site analytical workflow was developed for the investigation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and perfluorinated compounds using multiwalled carbon nanotube–modified paper spray ionization (PSI) coupled with a miniature ion trap mass spectrometer. Critical parameters regarding PSI and miniature mass spectrometry analysis were optimized.ResultsThe analytical performance of the developed method was evaluated under optimized conditions, obtaining a short analysis duration of less than 1 min, sufficient linearity with correlation coefficients greater than 0.99, acceptable recovery rates of 93.1%–105.8% with relative standard deviations of between 3.5% and 10.3%, and reasonable sensitivity with limits of detection and quantitation of 2–200 and 5–500 μg/L, respectively.ConclusionsConsidering these aspects, it was concluded that the present approach demonstrated a promising solution for rapid on‐site detection of emerging POPs.
